The Midwest Collegiate Computing Conference (MWC3) this year is on March 22-23, 2019, at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI. The conference is a joint venture between area businesses and educators passionate about encouraging Information Technology/ Information Systems skills at the collegiate level. The conference goal is to provide students both a learning and competitive environment in which to improve and test their skills all while networking with local business leaders/employers.
The theme this year is Connecting to the Future with speakers emphasizing the direction of technology development in the marketplace today. Competitions cover a wide range of knowledge and skills including enterprise infrastructure, application development, and systems/database.

ENTERPRISE COMPUTING: CONNECTING TO THE FUTURE
Paul Newton is an IBM Consulting IT Specialist at the IBM Innovation Center in Dallas where he assists IBM Business Partners and entrepreneurs on System z and helps enable university faculty to use z/OS-based technology in existing curriculum. He joined IBM in 1998 after 25 years of applying mainframe technology to a variety of industries. IBM responsibilities included assisting Independent Software Vendors port software products to z/OS and Linux on IBM Z systems.
